WSN was the only media outlet in the state with people on the ground at all four games tonight. Click here to read the replay of our live blog.

We dish out game balls, define turning points and provide you with some notes from all four games.

Milwaukee Hamilton 54, Beloit Memorial 47, Rick Hamilton & Dan Barwick

Turning Point: Without a doubt, Hamilton's 7-0 run to start the game. With Beloit struggling to find their shot, the Wildcats took advantage and built a lead they would not give up.

Game Ball: Haki Stampley. Hamilton's lone senior starter played all 32 minutes and did a little bit of everything in helping his team to victory. Finally, like any good leader, Stampley led by example, doing a little bit of everything (19 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals, 3 assists and 3 blocks), including a huge steal and three-point play with 2:40 left to give Hamilton a seven-point cushion, and a steal off an inbound with 30 seconds left and his team holding on to a precarious 6-point advantage.  Perhaps more important than any one stat, though, is Stampley's calm on-floor demeanor, which clearly rubs off on his young charges, and makes like much easier for veteran coach Tom Diener.

Notes:  Hamilton starts three freshman and only played 6 players on the night…  Freshman Kevon Looney led the Wildcats with 20 points, showing great ability on the dribble, scoring on pull-ups and drives to the rim, as well as hitting nothing but net on a deep three-pointer… David Burrell brought energy on both ends of the floor, finishing with a double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds), including an eye-opening two-handed put-back jam to close out the first quarter… Mike Weston of Beloit provided a first-half spark scoring all 11 of his points and grabbing 8 of his 11 rebounds in the first 16 minutes before being plagued with foul trouble in the second half… Dennis Crosby hit 4-6 from 3-point range in the second half nearly brought the Purple Knights back…  the WIAA estimated the attendance at the Al at 1,200, by this writer’s view most of those were Beloit fans

Appleton East 54, Germantown 52 (OT), Travis Wilson

Turning Point: In an exciting game that went to overtime and wasn't decided until the overtime buzzer, it was a match-up full of turning points. However, a crazy sequence on a missed free throw with 3.8 seconds left changed the possession from Germantown, who was up one at the time, to Appleton East. Trent Schmidt missed his second throw, which was possessed briefly by Germantown’s Malcolm Bowers before going to the ground and losing the ball. Both teams wanted a foul on the play, but the underneath official ruled it out of bounds to East. The trail official however awarded a timeout to Germantown. After several minutes of discussion, the call was reversed and the ball given to East on the initial out of bounds call. East would miss its initial shot but Caleb Zeegers scored on a putback at the buzzer for a 54-52 victory.

Game Ball: Caleb Zeegers. East’s Sam Mader rained from behind the three-point line all night, but Caleb Zeegers hit five three-pointers of his own and topped it off with the game winning putback. He stayed with the play and did not assume the clock was going to run out, playing through the horn. His effort and focus in that moment and throughout the game earn him the Game Ball in this one.

Notes:  Mader knocked down five three-pointers on the night on his way to a game-high 23 points… As a team, Appleton East made 12 three-point shots in 26 attempts… Josh Mongan nailed a three-pointer with just over 10 seconds left to tie the game and force overtime… East led by as many as 14 points in the first half and took a 12-point lead to the break... Zeegers, Mader, and Eric Schultz played all 36 minutes of the game for East… Germantown out-scored East 12-6 in the fourth quarter and 28 to 16 in the second half… Capacity at the Kolf Center is 5,000 and it was a standing room only crowd…

Madison Memorial 60, Milwaukee Riverside 48, Nicholas Kartos

Turning Point:  In what was a heavyweight slugfest, Memorial was the first to land a solid punch.  With time running low in the 3rd quarter senior Miles Chamberlain scored on a strong drive to the hoop followed by a run-out and lay-up by Junior Lomomba with only a couple ticks left on the clock to claim a 39-34 lead going into the 4th.

Game Ball:  Tre Burnette & Miles Chamberlain.  The senior duo led the Spartans with Chamberlain going for 19 points and Burnette with 16.  Chamberlain hit a couple key pull-up jumpers and had some strong drives to the bucket.  Burnette hit two huge threes in the first quarter and was key throughout.   People sometimes don’t realize that these two guys would have been “the guy” at many other schools in the state.  They have been in the shadows of all the other great talent that has come through Memorial – Maymon two years ago, Vander last year and even junior Junior Lomomba this season.  It will be interesting to see if they can put the finishing touches on their senior season, from what I saw tonight they are taking it into their own hands and that is what you want seniors to do.

Notes:  Shomari Triggs had 19 points on the night as Memorial had trouble getting someone to stay in front of him all night… Riverside shot just 2-15 from three point land in the game…  Jamar “Popcorn” Morris finished the game with 9 points and 10 rebounds, including a dropstep jamdunk in the third quarter…. Memorial had 12 assists on 20 made baskets, Riverside had only 4 assists on 20 made baskets…  For the second straight game Memorial made more free throws (16) than their opponent attempted (11)… Capacity of the Kachel Gymnasium is 3,000 and I would say there was about 2,000 people there tonight.

De Pere 63, Superior 39, Jay Messar

Turning Point:  De Pere senior Reece Zoelle’s lay-in with 2 seconds to go in the first quarter put the finishing touches on a 6-0 run to take their first lead of the game at 11-10.  They carried that momentum into a 24-9 second period that blew the game open.

Game Ball: Reece Zoelle, who has several DII offers, got the offense going and sliced through Superior’s zone press rendering it useless.  The 6-4 guard hit 3 threes and finished at the rim multiple times to end up with a game high 23 points.

Notes:  Junior Brett Vanden Bergh of De Pere guarded Superior senior standout and North Dakota State recruit Joel Lindberg, holding him to 12 points and frustrating him with his length all night…  Another NDSU recruit, Chris Kading, had 13 points for De Pere including a 5-5 performance from the field featuring 4 dunks….  The Quandt Fieldhouse at UW-Stevens Point holds about 3,200 and it was reported the attendance was 1,600, but I would guess there was more like 2,400 there...   Since a loss to Bay Port on January 14th, De Pere has rattled off 14 consecutive victories all by a double digit victory margin…
