The South squads claimed victories in both WFCA All-Star Games played today at Titan Stadium on the campus of UW-Oshkosh. In the Division 4-7 game played in the afternoon, the South claimed an exciting 21-19 win as Brodhead-Juda linebacker Alex Wallace thwarted a two-point conversion attempt with just over a minute to go. Meanwhile, the South defense was dominant in shutting out the North squad in the Division 1-3 game, 30-0.

The South Division 4-7 team relied on big plays to make up for a lack of offense, as a fumble recovery for a touchdown and two long touchdown passes accounted for its scoring on the day. With just 33 seconds left in the first half, Arcadia defensive end Andrew Robinson returned a North fumble four yards for a touchdown, tying the game after Clear Lake quarterback Matt O'Connell had opened the scoring for the North earlier int he quarter.

Poynette quarterback Adam Ray hooked up with Wautoma's Zach Kasuboski for the first of two touchdown passes to take the lead in the third quarter on an 80-yard scoring play. The North answered early in the fourth quarter with a 3-yard touchdown pass from Baldwin-Woodville's Jordan Weyer to teammate Jake Keefer. The two-point conversion attempt failed however. Ray connected with Kasuboski again on a 53-yard pass play to push the South lead to 8 points. O'Connell connected with Colby's Jeremy Rahm for an 11-yard score with just over a minute to go, but Wallace intercepted the pass to prevent what would have been a game-tying two-point conversion as the South held on to win 21-19.

In the Large School (D1-3) game, the South defense dominated, led by Pewaukee's Derek Watt, who accounted for three interceptions on the day including a 32-yard return for a touchdown in the first quarter. Arrowhead's Drew Meyer, who played defensive back in the game but will punt at Wisconsin next season, also returned an interception 25 yards for a score in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring for a 30-0 South win.

McFarland's Tyler Wedel, a Northern Illinois recruit, connected on three of four field goal attempts, missing on a 56-yarder but splitting the uprights from 46, 22, and 24 yards. Waukesha South's Kyler Tolefree accounted for the other score with a 13-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. All three of Watt's interceptions came in the second quarter.
