The Wisconsin Dells Exposure Classic is set to get underway at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Just A Game Fieldhouse in downtown Wisconsin Dells.

A total of 64 teams in the 15U, 16U and 17U divisions will take part in the event, which is certified by the NCAA and open to coaches from the Divisions I, II and III levels as well as NAIA schools.

Twenty-six teams will participate in the 17U pool, including some of the premier teams from Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Swing 17U-Litscher squad, which advanced to the Final Four of the prestigious Fab 48 Tournament in Las Vegas on Monday, is slated to play at 10 a.m. and noon on Thursday.

Germantown senior Zak Showalter, Madison Edgewood senior Austin Arians, Germantown junior Luke Fischer and Sun Prairie junior Nick Fuller will compete in the event, according to Swing coach Justin Litscher.

“We will have all of our guys at the event except for Cory Vaassen of Cuba City,” Litscher said. “Coach (Jerry) Petitgoue wanted to use a few contact days so Cory will be staying in Cuba City to work out with his high school teammates.”

Schowalter, a 6-foot-2 guard ranked No. 4 among state prospects in the class of 2012 by WisSports.net, led the Swing in its impressive run in Las Vegas.

“Minnesota liked what they saw out of Zak in Vegas and is starting to show some interest,” Litscher said. “It was a really good tournament for us. We were in the invitational division so we beat some really good teams. It was a good run and we had a lot of college coaches watching us.

“Zak played at another level in Las Vegas, especially our last three games. Austin showed his athleticism by dunking in traffice a few times. Josh Mongan also played very well and now has some interest from Cornell and Yale.”

Another team to keep an eye on in Wisconsin Dells is the Wisconsin Playmakers 16U squad coached by Sean White.

The Playmakers 16U team will play up a division in the 17U bracket and is slated to play at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Thursday.

The Playmakers feature two of the top collegiate prospects in the class of 2013 in Onalaska junior guard Matt Thomas (6-3), Berlin junior forward Toby Hegner (6-9), Little Chute junior Turner Botz (6-6) and Merrill junior David Jesperson (6-8).

Other top 17U teams from Wisconsin include the Wisconsin Blizzard – Kellett, the Wisconsin Force, Townline Sports out of Green Bay, Wisconsin Playmakers 17U, the Wisconsin Shooters, the Wisconsin Starz and the Wisconsin Blaze.

Top 16U teams from Wisconsin include Wisconsin Blizzard – Mielke, Wisconsin Force, Wisconsin Shooters, Wisconsin Blizzard – Kellett, Randolph Boys Club, Flash and the Fox Valley Fire.

Top 15U teams from Wisconsin include Wisconsin Blaze, Randolph, Wisconsin Storm, Wisconsin Blizzard – Reader, Wisconsin Playmakers, Wisconsin Shooters, Wisconsin Starz and Wisconsin Blizzard – Schalow.

Games run through 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday at the Just A Game Fieldhouse, Wisconsin Dells High School and the House of Wellness.

Visit www.justagamefieldhouse.com for additional details, including game schedules and directions to venues.

Please note there is construction at the JustAGame Fieldhouse as they add on a 1700-seat arena to the west side of the facility. Parking on that side of the building is very limited, so attendees are asked to park behind the Fieldhouse to the East in the gravel lot, to the East in Public Lot 7 (free) towards the municipal building and pool, or in other public parking lots in the downtown area. The main entrance should still be open for coming into the building.

College coaches wishing to attend the event are welcome and will be provided with separate seating areas as well as free program/roster sheets.

WisSports.net will be covering the event with articles, videos and photos.
