Prep Props -- Week 3: Carrier goes for 388, Clayton's Larson posts Top 50 all-time performance

Prep Props is our weekly look at the best individual statistical performances in the state, with the leaders in rushing yards, passing yards, and receiving yards as well as the longest touchdowns and longest field goals. Prep Props is published every Monday morning.

Shullsburg's Nate Carrier posted the 14th best single-game rushing performance in state history when he rushed for 388 yards with 5 touchdowns on 32 carries in a wild 54-41 win over Pecatonica/Argyle. He had scoring runs of 11, 41, 66, 25, and 74 yards in the game. DeForest's Bryar Harper put up yet another huge game, going for 293 yards on just 18 carries, all in the first half, as the Norskies dominated Monroe. He now has 912 yards in just three games and has posted the #4, #1, and #2 rushing performance in Weeks 1 through 3 respectively.

Clayton quarterbacks are no strangers to top passing performances. Last year Tyler Ketz posted the fifth-highest yardage in state history when he threw for 507 yards in a win over Elmwood. Kyle Larson has added his name to the record books this year after throwing for 404 yards and 5 touchdowns on 18 of 34 passing in a Week 3 34-28 victory at Pepin/Alma. His performance is good for a Top 50 spot all-time.

McDonell Central has gotten off to an 0-3 start, with each loss coming by one touchdown. The offense has put up big numbers however, including receiver Ryan Baier in Week 3. He caught 10 passes for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 26-20 loss to Assumption.

Kewaunee's Cole Kittel changed the momentum in a heavyweight battle against Roncalli, returning a third-quarter interception 99 yards for a touchdown as the Storm claimed a hard-fought 36-26 win over the Jets.

Oshkosh North's Turner Geisthardt and Waunakee's Jack Russel shared longest Week 3 field goal honors with 46-yard boots. Russell also connected from 32 yards out in the Warriors' 39-0 shutout of Mount Horeb/Barneveld.
