The Team of the Week is back again for 2011.  The voting this year is upgraded and is featured at the bottom of the article. Voting is open until Wednesday at 4 p.m., so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word.

Kenosha Bradford - Anyone doubting whether Kenosha Bradford is a legit conference and state title contender after the loss of star running back Vonte Jackson should doubt no more. The Red Devils dominated in every phase of the game on Friday night to claim a 25-0 shutout of Franklin. The teams met with unbeaten records, just as they did in Week 8 last year when Franklin claimed a 40-35 win. This year a strong rushing attack led by Dewey Warner (117 yards), Quanzell Murphy (87 yards), and Henry Cabrera (71 yards) was the catalyst, with quarterback Zach Swisher hooking up for two long touchdowns and Jerry Nash III scoring on a second quarter punt return. The defense held Franklin to just 176 total yards as the Sabers tried three different quarterbacks without much success.

Oshkosh West - It was among the craziest ways to win a football game, but Oshkosh West will certainly take it. In a game that saw emotions and momentum swing wildly in the final minutes, West pulled out an improbable 18-17 victory against new VFA-South foe Stevens Point. The Wildcats were driving with less than two minutes left when an interception seemingly ended the game. However, Stevens Point was not able to run enough clock off, and on third down was forced to run a play rather than kneel down for a win. Ethan Fenske ran a quarterback sweep, but a Seth Schmidt hit forced a fumble that was recovered by the Wildcats' Tyler Goral. With just seconds remaining, West took over the SPASH 21-yard line. Quarterback Dane Munsch looked for Eli Stanek at the goal line, but Stanek slipped. The pass bounced off his chest, and was caught in mid-air by Nate Linnabary, who went in for the game-winning score. The win was so improbable that West head coach Ken Levine told the Oshkosh Northwestern that he missed the Stevens Point fumble as he was taking off his headset and putting it away in preparation for the postgame handshake.

Prescott - It was a historic night in Somerset, but unfortunately for the host Spartans the glory went to the visiting Prescott Cardinals. For the first time since joining the Middle Border Conference in 2002, Somerset was defeated in a conference home game as Prescott pulled away for a 27-12 victory. Somerset may have felt the effects of last week's six-overtime victory over Bloomer, as they committed an uncharacteristic six lost fumbles. Aric Sandvig rushed for just 8 yards on 13 carries, but his two 1-yard touchdown runs in the second half allowed Prescott to open up its 13-6 halftime lead to a commanding 27-6 advantage, which was enough despite a late Somerset touchdown. Prescott is now 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in the MBC.

Sussex Hamilton - In a week full of program-defining wins, none may have been as big as the Chargers 19-17 win over Milwaukee Marquette Friday night. It was the first victory over Marquette in program history. Despite returning just 10 starters and dealing with the losses of standout brothers Aaron and Cameron Clinton-Earl, Sussex Hamilton is off to a 3-0 start, including a 1-0 mark in the Greater Metro. Nick Patterson rushed for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns while Drew Patterson added 70 yards and 1 touchdown. Quarterback Matt Judson wasn't asked to throw often, but he was very efficient on the night, completing 5 of 6 passes for 71 yards. The defense was outstanding, holding Marquette to just 74 rushing yards.

Wilmot - In a battle of unbeaten teams looking to get a jump on the Southern Lakes conference race, Wilmot pulled out a 14-10 win over last week's Team of the Week Waterford. The Panthers took advantage of several key Waterford penalties, and made plays when they had to. Senior quarterback Chris Nelson was outstanding, passing for 201 yards and 1 touchdown while adding 68 yards on the ground. Wilmot trailed 10-7 at halftime after Greg Steffens took a screen pass 52 yards to the house as the half expired. That momentum swing could have derailed some teams, but Wilmot used a strong defense to contain the Wolverine attack. A Brian Hopkins 1-yard scoring run in the third quarter held up for the final margin of victory.
