The Player of the Week is back again for 2011.  The voting this year is upgraded and is featured at the bottom of the article. Voting is open until Wednesday at 4 p.m., so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word.

Dominic Flock, Cashton - Cashton sits at 2-0 in the Scenic Bluffs Conference after scoring a come from behind 32-30 win over New Lisbon on Friday. Flock played a huge role in every phase of the game. He rushed for 126 yards on 28 carries, with his 20-yard scamper with 1:17 left in the game tied it 30 before the Eagles converted the two-point conversion for the eventual winning score. Flock opened the scoring for Cashton on an 18-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter. In the third period, he stripped the ball from a New Lisbon ballcarrier at the three-yard line then returned the ensuing fumble 97 yards to give Cashton its first lead of the game. Flock scored on a two-point conversion earlier in the game as well.

Matt Knapp, Eau Claire Memorial - Eau Claire Memorial continues to prove they are a force to be reckoned with this year in the much-improved Big Rivers Conference. The Old Abes moved to 4-0 on the year and 2-0 in BRC action with a 45-28 win over Chippewa Falls Friday. Knapp connected on three second-quarter touchdown passes to help ECM build a 38-14 halftime lead. For the game he was 18 of 27 for 293 yards and 4 touchdowns. He added 36 yards on the ground as well.

Devon Linzenmeyer, Ozaukee - For a few hours Linzenmeyer was thought to have the second-best single game rushing performance in state history before we found out about Kimberly's Alex Schuh, who beat him out by 1 yard. Still, it was an incredible performance by Linzenmeyer, who needed only 18 carries to amass 447 rushing yards to go with 6 touchdowns. He did this all despite carrying the ball just three times in the second half as the Warriors dominated North Fond du Lac 67-33.  He scored on touchdown runs of 95, 66, 58, 58, 50, and 48 yards in the game on his way to averaging an amazing 24.8 yards per carry. His 447 yards is third-best in state history, while the 737 rushing yards Ozaukee accumulated as a team is believed to be an all-time state record.

Zach Lemmer, Athens - The Bluejays squared off with Greenwood/Granton on Friday in a battle of unbeaten Cloverwood teams. Greenwood/Granton got on the board first, but Athens quickly went ahead 7-6 on a Lemmer 15-yard touchdown run. He added some insurance in the fourth quarter with a 7-yard score. For the game Lemmer rushed 29 times for 235 yards and the 2 touchdowns as Athens moved to 4-0 on the season.

Alex Schuh, Kimberly - Schuh edged ever so slightly ahead of Linzenmeyer into the #2 spot on the all-time single game rushing list with 448 yards and 6 touchdowns on 36 carries as the Papermakers won a shootout over D.C. Everest 52-40. Like Linzenmeyer, Schuh posted several big plays, including touchdown runs of 84, 67, 55, and 54 yards to go with a pair of 2 yard scoring plunges. He also added a pair of catches for 48 yards. Unlike Linzenmeyer, Schuh was forced to stay on the field throughout the game as the Evergreens offense kept up with Kimberly in the second half. Schuh's 84-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter seemed to put the game away as it gave the Papermakers a 45-27 lead. However, D.C. Everest scored two touchdowns to make it 45-40, before Schuh's final TD, a two-yard scoring dive, provided the final margin of victory.

Honorable mention:

David Dabroski, Hustisford - Dabroski completed 17 of 25 passes for 335 yards and 5 touchdowns as Hustisford moved to 4-0 on the season thanks to a 34-22 win over Cambria-Friesland.
Alex Giles, Cedar Grove-Belgium - The Rockets shutout last year's CLC champion Oostburg 42-0 as Giles rushed for 203 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Joe Greif, Milwaukee Marquette - After starting 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the Greater Metro, Marquette needed a win in Week 4. Greif got the job done, throwing for 340 yards and 3 touchdowns while leading the team in rushing with 48 yards as the Hilltoppers knocked off West Allis Hale 27-6.
Alex Miller, Notre Dame -- Notre Dame kept pace in the FRCC with a 27-23 comeback win over Bay Port on Friday. Miller carried it 47 times for 268 yards and 3 touchdowns, including the go-ahead score in the fourth quarter.
Brady Rose, Cumberland - Cumberland continued its offensive onslaught in Week 4, pulling away for a 46-14 win over Ladysmith. Rose rushed for 267 yards and 5 touchdowns while adding 2 receptions for 57 yards and another score.
