The Lancaster Flying Arrows have been selected as the Week 4 WSN Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. Lancaster knocked off Division 4's second-ranked team Nekoosa 50-34 in a non-conference game Friday night. The Flying Arrows were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 4. They received 1731 votes, or 42.1% of the total votes cast, to narrowly edge Wausau East, who received 40%.

Don't look now but one of the state's powerhouse programs is back on track and appears to be a strong contender for a deep playoff run. After going "only" 5-5 last season, Lancaster is 4-0 after a 50-34 Week 4 win over previously unbeaten and D4 second-ranked Nekoosa. In a wild back and forth affair, Lancaster jumped out to a 21-7 first quarter lead and later led 35-20 at halftime. Nekoosa scored the next two touchdowns to close within 35-34, but Lancaster closed the game out with a pair of scores for the win. Trae Mezera (10 carries, 131 yards, 2 touchdowns), Justin Hore (18, 112, 1) and Troy Baker (12, 93, 2) all had outstanding games on the ground. Hore and Kyle Jarrett combined to go 5 of 9 for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns in the air as well. Lancaster currently leads the state in scoring, averaging 56.5 points per game.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 5 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
