The Player of the Week is back again for 2011. The voting this year is upgraded and is featured at the bottom of the article. Voting is open until Wednesday at 4 p.m., so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word.

Logan Emendorfer, Platteville - In a key SWC matchup, Emendorfer did a bit of everything for the Hillmen as they pulled away for a 51-14 win over Prairie du Chien. He completed 11 of 14 passes for 272 yards with 5 touchdowns and also ran for a two-yard score in the first quarter. After Prairie du Chien went ahead 7-3 with 3:22 left in the first quarter, Emendorfer had a hand in four straight touchdowns to help the Hillmen pull away and move to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in league play.

Phillip Martola, Slinger - The Slinger Owls needed every one of quarterback Phillip Martola's 343 passing yards in Week 6, as they rallied to knock off Hartford 38-31 in overtime. He connected on the game-tying touchdown to Kirk Emmer with 1:17 left in the fourth quarter and hit Daniel Sabin in overtime for the win. In addition to his performance through the air he also rushed 12 times for 81 yards as the Owls moved to 2-2 in conference play. All four of his touchdown passes came in the second half or overtime.

Austin Ramesh, Northland Pines - The Eagles are sometimes a bit of a forgotten team being so far north and also competing in a conference with teams from Michigan, but junior running back Austin Ramesh made sure Northland Pines will get some headlines this week. He carried the ball 39 times for 441 yards (11.3 yards per carry average) with 4 touchdowns as the Eagles knocked off Ironwood (MI) 39-15. He became the third running back to crack 400 yards this year, joining Kimberly's Alex Schuh (448) and Ozaukee's Devon Linzenmeyer (447), who each did it back in Week 4. Ramesh's 441 yards ranked #5 all-time on the single game rushing list.

Jarret Rhenlund, Hurley - The Midgets found themselves in a difficult position Friday night in their Homecoming game, down 24-14 at halftime and later trailing by 18 in the third quarter. That is when Rhenlund took over, rushing for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns in the third quarter and adding a score early in the fourth as Hurley ran off 47 straight points to win 61-32 over Bessemer/Wakefield (MI). For the game he finished with 19 carries for 235 yards and 4 touchdowns while adding one catch for 28 yards.

Dom Wise, Verona - Wise has put together an impressive three-game stretch for the Wildcats, including back to back huge games against teams that came in undefeated. Friday night against previously unbeaten Janesville Parker, Wise carried the ball just 10 times but ran for 182 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Wildcats won 52-28. One of the area's top big-play threats, he scored on runs of 8, 81, and 43 yards. He also caught a 24-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Three of his four scores came shortly after Parker had gotten touchdowns. In the past three games Wise has 30 carries for 569 yards and 8 rushing touchdowns plus the receiving touchdown. Seven of the touchdowns have come from at least 43 yards out.

Honorable Mention:

Tyler Doyle, Lakeside Lutheran - Doyle was 14 of 19 for 251 yards and 5 touchdowns and ran for an 18-yard score as the Warriors grabbed sole possession of first place in the Capitol-North with a 41-24 win over Lodi.
Nathan Otto, Appleton North - Otto completed 13 of 16 passes for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns plus booted five extra points as the Lightning defeated Kaukauna 35-3.
Alec Richmond, Germantown - Richmond ran for 196 yards and 3 touchdowns to help Germantown knock off previously unbeaten Milwaukee Lutheran 56-35.
Teddy Ruetz, Racine St. Catherine's - Ruetz picked off three passes, forced and recovered a fumble, recorded 10 tackles and caught a touchdown as St. Cat's secured a playoff spot with a 28-0 win over Shoreland Lutheran Saturday.
Kenneth Walker, Big Foot - Walker scored 4 first quarter touchdowns (2 rushing, 1 receiving, 1 punt return) as Big Foot dominated Beloit Turner 68-20.
