Kevon Looney of Milwaukee Hamilton, Zak Showalter of Germantown and J.P. Tokoto of Menomonee Falls lead the way as unanimous selections to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Division 1 All-State Team.

Showalter, Tokoto and Devin Yurk of Sheboygan North are repeat first-team picks from a year ago.

At 6-foot-8, Looney is a long, athletic and skilled combination guard with a tremendous upside. He was chosen as the Player of the Year in the Milwaukee City Conference thanks to his ability to score and impact a game on multiple levels. He currently owns scholarship offers from Georgetown, Illinois, Kansas, Marquette, Missouri and Wisconsin, among others.

Showalter (6-2) is a four-year varsity performer and a high-energy, aggressive wing guard who defends with a purpose and hits the glass on both ends of the court. He is especially adept at getting into passing lanes for deflections and steals, which he often converts into easy baskets. Showalter is headed to Wisconsin in the fall as a preferred walkon.

Tokoto (6-6) is an explosive wing forward who can get to the basket and finish above the rim. He finished the year averaging 24.6 ppg, good for fourth in the state. He continues to work hard to improve perimeter jump shot and will graduate with 12 school records, including the career scoring leader with 1,736 points, career rebounding leader with 1,114 and most points scored in a game with 48 against Catholic Memorial. He will attend North Carolina on a basketball scholarship.

Yurk (6-3) is an outstanding floor leader for the Golden Raiders of Sheboygan North. He can score, defend and locate open teammates with his excellent court vision. Yurk averaged 13.9 ppg while helping Sheboygan North to a 21-4 record.

The rest of the first team includes Sun Prairie junior Nick Fuller, D.C. Everest senior Luke Heller, De Pere senior Brett VandenBergh, Milwaukee Vincent junior Deonte Burton, Milwaukee Rufus King junior Austin Malone-Mitchell and Chippewa Falls senior Tyson Kalien.

Fuller (6-6) is an extremely versatile, athletic wing player with size and bounce. He can make shots from the perimeter or get to the basket and finish above the rim. He averaged 23.6 ppg for the Cardinals this season.

Heller (6-6) led D.C. Everest to the championship of the Wisconsin Valley Conference by averaging a team-high 17.9 ppg. The Michigan Tech recruit is a four-year varsity player who can score facing the basket from beyond the three-point arc or use his physical strength to score in the lane.

VandenBergh (6-6) helped De Pere to the championship in the Fox River Classic Conference by averaging 12.6 ppg. A physically strong wing player who can stroke it from downtown as well as connect on mid-range jump shots, VandenBergh is headed to North Dakota State on a basketball scholarship.

Burton (6-4) is a physically imposing wing player who has improved his perimeter shot. A super aggressive and athletic wing player who scores in the lane and on mid-range jump shots, Burton possesses tremendous strength and athleticism. He has given Marquette coach Buzz Williams a verbal commitment to play for the Golden Eagles.

Malone-Mitchell (6-0) is the starting point guard and top backcourt performer for a very balanced Milwaukee King squad that won the City Conference title with a 14-0 record. A first-team all-league pick, Malone-Mitchell is very quick and aggressive on both ends of the court.

Kalien (6-3) is one of the top long-distance shooters in the state and was selected as the Player of the Year in the Big Rivers Conference. He averaged 25.6 ppg for coach Luke Madsen.
