Favorite Sport: “I would have to say track and field. It’s not necessarily a team sport because it’s all up to you. When you do really well and succeed, you know you did it by yourself and that feels really good.”

Best Part of High School Sports: “It would be getting to be around your teammates every day. The atmosphere of being around other people who really like sports is really kind of cool.”

Best Advice from a High School Coach: “I’d have to say that our basketball coach, Kaleen McGettigan, would always tell me that I need to go out and play my best and play hard each and every game. She always said I was a very good player, but that I needed to go out and prove it. And if I had a subpar game, not to worry about it … that I was still a good player regardless.”

Most Memorable Moment in High School Sports: “Winning state as a sophomore in track and field and then winning our first conference championship in basketball this year are the two highlights that stand out to me.”

Best Part of Playing Three Sports: “We really don’t have too many kids in our school, so we need our students to play a lot of sports. Playing three sports means you are always staying active and it also helps with time management.”

Toughest Part of Playing Three Sports: “Getting your homework done. We had four track meets in one week this spring so it can get hard to finish your homework and be prepared for all of the classes the next year.”

Favorite Opponents: “For basketball, it would be Potosi. They are always tough and it’s usually a grudge match all the way down to the end. In volleyball, it would be Highland. They made it to state one year and we’d always try to beat them.”

Favorite College Team: Wisconsin Badgers football.

Favorite Professional Team: Green Bay Packers.

Cumulative GPA: 3.97.

Toughest Individual You’ve Competed Against: “Kennedy Blahnik of Algoma. I only competed against her at last year’s WIAA state meet when she was a freshman, but she was really good. I’m looking forward to competing against her again this year at state.”

College Plans: “I will be attending Minnesota on a track and field scholarship. I plan to major in kinesiology with a minor in coaching and Spanish.

Activities Outside of Sports: President Pleasant View 4H Club, volunteer to help at Bingo for Senior Citizens, National Honor Society, Band, co-editor of the Belmont High School Yearbook, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Business Leaders of America, Spanish Club, Library Club, Book Club, help in summer with religious education at St. Philomena Church in Belmont.

I Find it Relaxing to: “I love to hang out with my friends. It’s a small town so we get together a lot. We have a lot of animals on our farm so I like to get outside as well. Our family also likes to go camping in the summer.”

Favorite TV show: “NCIS.”

Favorite Movies: “All the Scooby Doo movies.”

Favorite Musical Artists: “I’m a big country fan. I like all country music in general.”

Favorite Subject: Science.

Favorite Restaurant: Culver’s.

Favorite Websites: www.facebook.com.
