Wisconsin players selected in the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft

Major League Baseball held it's 2012 First Year Player Draft over the past several days, and a number of athletes with ties to the state of Wisconsin were drafted. Some of the players drafted have college eligibility remaining or are committed to colleges and may not sign professional contracts this year.

Wisconsin athletes taken in 2012 MLB Draft:

Kyle Cody, McDonell Central - 33rd round (#1028) Phillies
Dan Gulbransen, Jacksonville University (Fox Valley Lutheran HS) - 16th round (#489) Astros
Jordan Guth, UW-Milwaukee (Onalaska HS) - 9th round (#308) Phillies
Paul Heonecke, UW-Milwaukee (West Bend West HS) - 24th round (#746) Dodgers
Jake Hermsen, Northern Illinois (New London HS) - 28th round (866) Dodgers
Nate Mikolas, Kenosha Bradford - 3rd round (#124) Yankees
Eric Semmelhack, UW-Milwaukee (Oak Creek HS) - 12th round (#395) Brewers
Brad Schreiber, Purdue (Kimberly HS) - 40th round (#1210) Twins
Adam Walker, Jacksonville University (Milwaukee Lutheran HS) - 3rd round (#97) Twins
