Sun Prairie's Nate Hoffmann has been selected as the top senior Pitcher as part of the WSN Senior Baseball Awards presented by Taco Bell.

It has been an incredible last two seasons for Hoffmann, who has three no-hitters in that span and was a First Team All-Area, All-District, and All-Conference selection as a junior. Sun Prairie went unbeaten in Big Eight play with a perfect 18-0 record. The Cardinals spent much of the season ranked #1 in the WBCA Coaches Poll and have advanced to the Division 1 state final.

Hoffman posted incredible numbers against quality competition this season. In 66 1/3 innings, he recorded a 9-0 record, 0.84 ERA, 0.84 WHIP, and 94 strikeouts. Not surprisingly he was named not only a First Team All-Conference pick, but the Big Eight Player of the Year. This comes a year after he garnered First Team All-Area, All-District, and All-Conference honors.

Hoffman, who pitched three no-hitters in the last two years including one against Madison West this year, started the first game of the state tournament for Sun Prairie. Against a tough Appleton North line-up, he pitched a complete game in the team's 6-4 win, striking out 7 while allowing just three earned runs.

Finalists for the award were Hoffmann, Ryan Bloom of Boyceville, Taylor Ditter of Sheboygan South, Justin Langley of Clinton, and Ryan Radue of Fox Valley Lutheran.
