Athlete of the Week Nominees for Aug. 27-Sept. 2

Below are the nominees for the Army National Guard Athlete of the Week for the week of August 27 to September 2. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once  per day.

Scott Nicolai, Eau Claire Memorial boys soccer: The Abes are currently 5-0-1 on the young season. Nicolai had a big goal in the Abes 2-0 victory over Hudson. It was Nicolai's fourth goal of the season and second of the week. He netted the game winner in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over Eau Claire North.

Ally Anich, Racine Horlick girls cross country: She finished with a 15:02.60 time in the 4,000 meter race. Her Rebel team finished in 14th place at the Rebel invite that featured teams from Illinois.

Kimberly Steif, Newman Catholic volleyball: The Cardinals passed their first test of the season as they beat Pittsville in four games in a Marawood Conference South match. Steif finished with 19 assists, 20 digs and three aces for Newman Catholic.

Luke Geffers, Valley Christian cross country: Geffers has ran two races this season and finished first in both of them. Geffers finished with a time of 17:56.61 at the Winneconne Inviational, about two seconds ahead of the second place finisher.

Kendra Johnson, Freedsom cross country: Johnson helped the Irish to a team title at the Freedom invite. She won the individual title running in a time of 15:58.26.
