The Medford Raiders have been selected as the Week 4 WSN Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. The teams' 31-7 win over defending league champion Antigo was a defensive marvel. The Raiders were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 4. An amazing total of 9324 votes were cast as Medford edged out Chilton in one of the more spirited voting sessions we've seen.

Medford took a big step towards qualifying for the postseason with a convincing 31-7 victory over Antigo, last year's Great Northern Conference champ, on Friday. The Raiders scored in every quarter, and quickly answered the lone Red Robins points with a 66-yard touchdown from Austin Salzgeber to John Keefe in the second quarter. Salzgeber was outstanding, completing 10 of 13 passes for 190 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The defense put on a masterful performance, as Antigo was coming off a 555-yard offensive outburst the week before. Medford held the Red Robins under 50 total yards of offense, and the only score came on a fumble recovery for a touchdown. Keefe and Ryan Paul had interceptions for Medford, while Nick Berger recorded three tackles for loss.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 5 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
