Athlete of the Week Nominees for October 15-21

Below are the nominees for the Army National Guard Athlete of the Week for the week of October 15-21. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Nick Steidemann, Oregon boys soccer, scored the only goal of the game as the Panthers got past Madison Memorial in the sectional final matchup on Saturday. Steidemann scored the goal in the 49th minute to advance the Panthers to the state tournament for the first time since 1998.

Maddie Lobenstein, Deerfield girls volleyball, collected 25 kills in the Demons win, 3-2, over Parkview in the regional final match on Saturday. Lobenstein also led Deerfield with 33 kills in their regional semifinal win over Brodhead.

Breanna Nedden, Antigo girls volleyball, finished with 24 kills and 14 digs in the Red Robins 3-1 win over Wittenberg-Birnawood in the regional final match. In Antigo's 3-2 win over West Salem in the regional semifinal match Nedden collected 17 kills and 13 digs.

Talon Heinemeyer, Shiocton football, passed for one touchdown, rushed for two touchdowns, caught a touchdown pass, and returned a punt for a touchdown in the Chiefs 51-0 win over Reedsville. Heinemeyer also ran fro three two-point conversions and kicked three extra points.

Isaac Tuttle, Glenwood City football, scored four touchdowns in the Hilltoppers 54-36 win over Turtle Lake in Level 1 of the WIAA playoffs. Tuttle finished the day with 274 yards on only 16 carries.
