Athlete of the Week Nominees for December 17-23
Below are the nominees for th Army National Guard Athlete of the Week for the week of December 17 through 23. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word.
Michelle Farrow, Waukesha West girls basketball, connected on 7 three's and finished with 25 points in a 55-32 win over Waukesha South. Farrow also scored 22 points in a win over Catholic Memorial.
Cassidy Mihalko, Franklin girls basketball, broke the school-record for points in a game with 37 as the Sabers' beat Kenosha Indian Trail 86-33. Mihalko finished with 14 points in a loss to #8 Oak Creek earlier in the week.
Jessica Lindstrom, Superior girls basketball, surpassed 1000 career points in a 61-38 win over Duluth Denfeld. Lindstrom finished with 24 points. She also scored 26 points in a 61-59 win over Chippewa Falls.
Trent Mehlberg, Oconto boys basketball, totaled 35 points including 4 three-pointers in a 84-59 win over Crivitz. On Tuesday night, Mehlberg finished with 11 points in a loss to #2 Green Bay New Lutheran.
Sam Ferguson, Arcadia boys basketball, scored 29 points as the Raiders knocked off unbeaten and fifth-ranked Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau 74-63. Ferguson scored 13 points in a loss to Eleva-Strum on Tuesday night.
