Favorite Sport: “Softball is my favorite sport because I’ve been playing it since I was really young. My grandpa played softball, too, and was a role model for me. When he passed away, it made me want to play it even more. It’s kind of a team sport, but it’s also an individual sport. I’ve been playing on the Firebirds club team the last few years and I’ve gotten some college offers because of it so it made me all the more dedicated to the sport.”

Best Part of High School Sports: “The best part of high school sports is being able to interact with other people. Helping others succeed is also a big part of being a high school sports athlete.”

Best Advice from a High School Coach: “When you get frustrated, don’t get down on yourself. Instead, continue to do the best you can do and then worry about making a change later on. Also, always remember to smile.”

Most Memorable Moment in High School Sports: “In softball, we had a doubleheader against Elkhorn and I hit four consecutive home runs. We went on to win both games so that was pretty cool.”

Best Part of Playing Three Sports: “I feel like it keeps me in shape and active. When I get out of school, competing in sports takes my mind off of things. It’s a different world than just going to school every day. You can look forward to doing something after school each day.”

Toughest Part of Playing Three Sports: “Definitely, time. You never feel like you have enough time to do what you want to. It’s all about time management. You have to study for tests even when you are tired and that can be difficult, especially after a long practice or a road game in basketball.”

Favorite Opponent: “In basketball and last year in softball, it would be Wilmot. They have a good program in both sports and you always know it will be a tough game. It always comes down to the last moments and the little things.”

Favorite Professional Teams: Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers

Favorite College Team: Duke basketball.

Cumulative GPA: 3.7

Toughest Individual You’ve Competed Against: “In softball, Kristen Wood of Wilmot was always a tough opponent. She’s a pitcher who could throw you off with a lot of different pitches. She was also very accurate with all of her different pitches, which made things difficult for the batter."

College Plans: “I’ll be attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the fall and major in nursing to hopefully become a certified registered nurse anesthetist. I hope to play intramural softball as well.”

Activities Outside of Sports: Waterford High School Student Council, Sergeant of Arms officer, Peer Listening, Community Helpers (CHASE), Library Club, volunteer twice a week at Burlington Memorial Hospital, certified nursing assistant through Gateway Technical College.

I Find it Relaxing to: “I like to hang out with my friends. It’s sometimes hard to be with them with all of the things going on, but I do like to spend time with them. I also like to read.”

Favorite TV show: “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Favorite Movie: “Pitch Perfect.”

Favorite Musical Artists: “It’s not anything specific, but pump-up songs for a game or country on the car radio.”

Favorite Subject: Biology.

Favorite Restaurant: Cheesecake Factory in Franklin.

Favorite Websites: www.pinterest.com.

Other Family Members: Father, Mark; mother, LeAnn; older brother, Zach.
