Division 1 Semi-Final Notes

Mukwonago cruises past Arrowhead

After splitting games in their Classic 8 schedule, Mukwonago rolled passed Arrowhead in their Division 1 state semi-final match-up. 

The Indians led 26-7 after the first quarter and cruised to a 64-44 win over the Warhawks to advance to the Division 1 championship game.

Mukwonago extended their lead 38-15 at halftime. The Indians shot 57% from the field while the Warhawks connected on only 30% of their shots. 

Freshman Bre Cera had 13 points at the break to pace the Indians. Senior Jenny Tuttle added 8 points, 3 assists and 2 steals. Arrowhead sophomore Ally May had 7 points at intermission.

Mukwonago finished the game with a 32 to 16 advantage in the paint. 

For the game the Indians shot 56% from the field while Arrowhead finished 37%. 

Senior Jenny Tuttle led all scores with 22 points while also contributing 4 assists and 4 steals. Cera finished with 15 points for the Indians.

Arrowhead was led by junior Kelly Smith's 14 points. May totaled 11 points and 7 rebounds for the Warhawks. 

Mukwonago is looking for their first WIAA state girls basketball championship.

Milwaukee Riverside gets past Superior

Milwaukee Riverside outscored Superior 28-12 in the second quarter and went on to defeat Superior 69-55 to advance to the Division 1 championship game.  

The Tigers led the Spartans 41-27 at halftime. Milwaukee Riverside dominated the first half in nearly every category, including a 28 to 12 advantage in the paint. Sophomore Amani Wilborn had 23 points and 3 steals and senior Breanna Lewis totaled 11 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks. Superior juniors Jessica Lindstrom and Hailey Kontny each had 11 points. Lindstrom also had 9 rebounds at the break. 

Milwaukee Riverside finished the game shooting 44% from the field while Superior was able to make only 30% of their attempts. The Tigers advantage in the paint continued in the second half and finished with 22 points more than the Spartans. 

Lewis finished with 20 points, 15 rebounds and 6 blocks for the Tigers. Wilborn totaled 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. 

Kontny led the Spartans in scoring with 20 points and also added 4 assists. Lindstrom finished the game with 19 points and 22 rebounds. 

Milwaukee Riverside plays Mukwonago in the state championship game.
