Athlete of the Week, April 15-21: McKaela Ryan, Oakfield
McKaela Ryan of Oakfield softball has been selected as the Army National Guard Athlete of the Week for the week of April 15th through the 21st after a statewide vote on WisSports.net.
Of the 2,722 votes, Ryan received 963 of them. Jason Singer of Darlington baseball finished second in the voting with 881 votes.
Ryan threw a combined nine innings of no-hit ball in the Oaks doubleheader win over Princeton/Green Lake on Monday. She threw a 5-inning no hitter with 6 strikeouts in their 14-0 win in game 1.
She followed that up by throwing 4 innings of no hit ball while collecting 5 strikeouts in their 16-0 win in game 2. Ryan also went 4-for-8 in the two games at the plate.
