Athlete of the Week, April 29-May 5: Rachel Romps, Plymouth

Rachel Romps of Plymouth softball has been selected as the Army National Guard Athlete of the Week for the week of April 29th through May 5th after a statewide vote on WisSports.net.

Of the 2,350 votes, Rachel received 1,065 of them. Hannah Rohde of Waukesha girls track and field finished second in the voting with 930 votes.

Romps tossed a no-hitter and tied a school-record with 18 strikeouts in a 2-0 win over Sheboygan Falls on Tuesday, April 30th.

She picked wins over Campbellsport, Sheboygan South, Sheboygan North and Howards Grove last week. 

In those four games she compilied 41 strikeouts, including a 13 strikeout performance against Howards Grove.
