Bay Port's Drew Neuville has been selected as the top senior infielder/catcher as part of the WSN Senior Baseball Awards.

It has been an incredible bolt to the top for Neuville this year. As a junior last season he was a part-time starter with just 12 RBI on a team that advanced to the D1 state title game.

In 2013, he moved into a much more prominent role. In one of the state's toughest baseball conferences, he took home the Triple Crown in the FRCC, finishing with 4 home runs, 34 RBI, and a .519 batting average in 16 league games.

Not surprisingly he was recognized as a First Team All-Conference selection and the FRCC Co-Player of the Year with teammate Ryan Frieder.

Playing the physically demanding catcher position he still managed to produce offensive numbers up there with anyone this season, and that continued into the state tournament. In a D1 quarterfinal win over Hartford he went 3 for 4 including a home run with 2 runs and 2 RBI, although the Pirates would go down to Stevens Point in the semi-finals.

Finalists for the award were Neuville, Jordan Daane of Waupun, Evan Deegan of Edgerton, Clark Eagan of Appleton North, Jake Kolasinski of Brookfield Academy, and Billy Lawton of University School.
