Head coach Mark Simon and the Reedsburg Beavers girls basketball team once again has an excellent group of teams competing in their Summer Varsity Tournament.
The tournament is now in its third year and has three state qualifiers from last season. Assumption won the Division 5 state title, Colfax was the Division 4 runner-up and Neillsville qualified for the state tournament in Division 3 after winning the D4 title in 2011-12.
The 16-team field combined for 286 wins (114 losses), for an average of 18.3 wins per team. Six of the teams reached at least 20 win in the 2012-13 season.
Play begins at 1:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon and continues through Saturday, with the championship game slated for 6:40 p.m.
