Athlete of the Week Nominees, Sept. 30-Oct. 6

Below are the nominees for the Army National Guard Athlete of the Week for the week of September 30 through October 6. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word.

Courtney Lundmark, Lake Holcombe girls volleyball, finished with 38 kills and 15 ace serves to help the Chieftains to the Gilman Invite title.

Adam Smith, Mayville football, collected 276 yards on 24 carries while finding the end zone 4 times to help the Cardinals to their first win of the season. Mayville beat Lomira 43-18. 

Abby Verheyen, Wrightstown girls volleyball, collected 37 kills and 30 digs to help the Tigers to the title at their own tournament that featured 12 teams. 

Miguel Vergara-Haro, Green Bay East boys soccer, scored two goals to lead the Red Devils to a 2-0 victory over Sheboygan North, who was previously unbeaten in the FRCC. 

Tyler Zaspel, Fort Atkinson football, carried the ball 34 times for 240 yards and 5 touchdowns in the Blackhawks 43-36 win over Oregon.
