Dylan Szews of Menasha has been selected as the Week 7 WSN Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. Szews was a workhorse as Menasha knocked off Marshfield in a key VFA-South battle. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 7. A total of 6258 votes were cast as Szews' 2648 votes edged Hudson's Jake Giordana, who finished with 2398.

Menasha has not been afraid to feed their featured running backs in the last few years, and Friday night was no different. In a tight battle with VFA-South co-leader Marshfield, the Blue Jays turned to senior Dylan Szews, who carried the ball 35 times for 260 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 35-27 victory. Szews scored three second quarter touchdowns to put Menasha up 28-14 at halftime, then rumbled in from 7 yards out with 7:22 remaining in the game to give Menasha some breathing room after Marshfield had pulled within 1.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named WSN Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 8 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
