WisSports.net Week 8 Player of the Week Nominees:

Lucas Gregory, Edgerton -- Gregory did a little bit of everything in helping the Tiders to a 49-6 win over McFarland that clinched an outright Rock Valley-North Conference title Friday night. He opened the scoring with a 6-yard touchdown reception, then added a 39-yard interception return for a score later in the first quarter. A 1-yard touchdown plunge in the second and 60-yard scoring scamper in the third put the Tiders on cruise control the rest of the way.

Derek Kahl, Menomonie -- Menomonie closes out the 2013 regular season with back-to-back tough games against Superior and Hudson. The Mustangs remained unbeaten with a 35-12 win over Superior in Week 8. Kahl got the action underway with a 3-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, added another score in the second and third, and two in the fourth to help put the game away. He finished with 205 yards and 5 touchdowns on 33 carries as the Mustangs rolled up more than 350 rushing yards as a team.

Sean McGuire, Franklin -- McGuire has done everything you'd ask of a senior leader this season, and in the biggest game of the year came through in a big way. Facing previously undefeated Kenosha Indian Trail and their harassing defense, McGuire completed 20 of 31 passes for 171 yards and 3 touchdowns while adding a rushing score as well for a 28-21 Sabers victory that likely clinched a conference title. He accounted for three of his touchdowns in the first half as Franklin jumped out to a 21-7 halftime lead.

Drew Patterson, Sussex Hamilton -- Chargers senior running back Drew Patterson has been banged up much of the year with an ankle injury, but to the chagrin of the team's opponents, is starting to get healthy. For the second straight week he recorded 32 carries, this time in a 24-21 win over Brookfield Central that clinched a playoff berth for Sussex Hamilton. He finished with 183 yards and a pair of touchdowns. With the game tied in the final seconds, Patterson carried several Central defenders with him for a key 8-yard gain that setup the 29-yard game-winning field goal from Bret Harvestine as time expired.

Joe Rademacher, Saint Croix Falls -- The Saints were sitting in a precarious position entering Week 8, needing to win their final two games to become playoff-eligible, but facing unbeaten Webster. Head coach Grant Belisle's squad responded with their backs against the wall, scoring a 36-26 upset. Rademacher ran for 162 yards and 1 touchdown and also recorded a team-high 14 tackles on defense.
