Athlete of the Week: Joe Coplan, Marquette
Joe Coplan of Marquette boys volleyball has been selected as WSN Athlete of the Week for the week of November 11 through 17 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net.
There were a toal of 8223 votes this week with Coplan receiving 3269 of them, while Tanner Sweeney of Black Hawk football finsihed second in the voting with 3240 votes.
Coplan helped the Hilltoppers to their 7th State Championship after collecting 60 kills in three matches, including 22 in the championship match win over Germantown.
The Hilltoppers defeated Westosha Central in the quarterfinals and Brookfield East in the Semifinals before topping Germantown in five games to win the title.
