Athlete of the Week Nominees, January 6-12

Below are the WSN Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of January 6 through 12. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Ramiyah Bennett, Heritage Christian girls basketball, scored a career-high 36 points in the Patriots 65-56 victory over Lake Country Lutheran on Saturday. Bennett went 14-for-18 from the free throw line and connected on a pair of threes. 

Jordan Berth, Peshtigo boys basketball, finished with 22 points and 16 rebounds in the Bulldogs 61-48 win over Wausaukee in a contest between the last two unbeaten teams in Marinette & Oconto play on Thursday. Berth also scored 14 points in a 63-39 victory over Saint Thomas Aquinas on Friday. 

Alison Hughes, Janesville Craig girls basketball, finished with a game-high 27 points in their 58-48 win over cross town rival Janesville Parker on Friday. Hughes went 8-for-11 from the field and 10-for-12 from the free throw line. 

Jake Larkin, Watertown boys basketball, hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer to lift the Goslings to a 63-62 win over Beaver Dam. Larkin finished with a game-high 26 points, helping Watertown overcome a 15-point halftime deficit. 

Alex Nagel, Antigo boys hockey, recorded a hat trick in the Red Robins 7-2 victory over Mosinee on Thursday night. Nagel also added 2 assists in the win.
