Splash of the Week: Cambridge girls basketball

Cambridge girls basketball knocked off undefeated Marshall on Friday night. The Blue Jays are this week’s PlayintheDells.com Splash of the Week

Cambridge used a 23-13 second quarter to defeat Marshall, ranked No. 4 in Division 3, 71-61. 

Junioir Monica Muth finished with a game-high 20 points and added 21 rebounds in the victory. Fellow junior Sydney Smith finished with 14 points while senior Gabbi Clary contributed 10. 

Coach Mike Jeffery and the Blue Jays also got scoring from sophomore Morgan Talbott (9 points), senior Anna Nikolay (9 points), freshman Katie Korth (4 points), junior Lisa Zibell (2 points), sophomore Sydney Currie (2 points), and junior Emily Stein (1 point). 

The win moves Cambridge to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in the Capitol South, putting them tied in the loss column with Marshall in league play. 

The Blue Jays have road games against Fort Atkinson on Tuesday and Wisconsin Heights on Thursday.
