Athlete of the Week: Shannon McNeill, Ripon
Shannon McNeill of Ripon girls basketball has been selected as the Sport Ngin Athlete of the Week for the week of January 27 through February 2 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net.
There were 6,115 votes this week with McNeill receiving 2,680. Monica Muth of Cambridge girls basketball finished in second in the voting with 2,268 votes.
McNeill scored a career-high 33 points in a 55-38 win over Clintonville on Saturday. She also scored 26 points in a 54-51 win against Winneconne last Thursday.
She's averaging a team-high 13.8 points and 2.9 assists per game for the Tigers (8-7) this season.
