Athlete of the Week: Andrea Thomas, Mauston
Andrea Thomas of Mauston girls basketball has been selected as the Sport Ngin Athlete of the Week for the week of February 17 through 23 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net.
There were 6,251 votes this week with Thomas receiving 2,240 of them. Edie Reeg of Chippewa Falls/Menomonie girls hockey finished second in the voting with 1,876 votes.
Thomas scored a career-high 40 points in the Golden Eagles 56-54 win against River Valley on Tuesday night.
The St. Cloud State recruit is averaging 19 points per game this season.
Mauston (13-9) opens the Division 3 WIAA Playoffs next Tuesday at Elk Mound.
