Last week several of the top ranked seniors in Wisconsin made college commitments, including top uncommitted prospect Peyton Cypress of New Berlin Eisenhower, who made a Division 1 commitment to Nicholls State.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it as expected? Easy/Difficult?

Cypress: Growing up I was always taught to think through my decisions, so I expected the process to take longer than it does for the average player. It was one of my most stressful times in my life.

PBR: When did the recruiting process really start to heat up for you? Was there a particular game or event that you feel turned the corner for you?

Cypress: The recruiting process started to heat up my senior year after the PBR unsigned senior showcase.

PBR: What were you looking for out of a college program to continue your baseball career at?

Cypress: I was looking for a program that felt like home and somewhere I knew would push me physically and mentally. Coach Thibodaux is that coach, tough and a great guy.

PBR: What do you like most about the college you committed to and what were the key factors in making your decision?

Cypress: I love the feel at the school, the work ethic of the guys, and the coaching staff is the best around.

In other recruiting news…

2014 LHP B.J. Sabol of Lake Country Lutheran made big news announcing that he would go the Junior College route and commit to San Joaquin Delta in California. Sabol was previously committed to Winona State. Sabol big body and left handed arm could thrive in the California JUCO system.

Will Doherty, Wisconsin Heights senior catcher, committed to University of Dubuque. Doherty is currently ranked No. 41 in the state.

Isaiah Strassburg adds to the UW-Oshkosh recruiting class as the Chippewa Falls LHP made his commit earlier as well. Strassburg is ranked No. 45 in the state.
