North teams complete sweep in WBCA Girls Basketball All-Star Games

The 37th Annual Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Games were held in Wisconsin Dells on Friday, June 20th at the JustAGame Fieldhouse. 

North won all five girls WBCA All-Star games. 

Division 1: North 68, South 61

North led 14-9 after the first quarter and went on to edge South 68-61 at JustAGame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells. North connected on 9 triples to offset their struggles from the free throw line (15-27). Chippewa Falls' Kayla Hanley scored a game-high 16 points and went 4-for-6 from behind the arc. Eau Claire Memorial's Lauren Novak and Appleton North's Mackenzie Greisch each added 10 points in the win. Oak Creek's Stephanie Kostowicz led South with 15 points and added 6 blocks in the loss.  

Division 1 Box Score 

Division 2: North 78, South 71

North outscored South 24-16 in the fourth quarter to earn a 78-71 victory. North made 10 more free throws than South and that proved to be the difference in the contest. Notre Dame's Allie LeClaire led all scorers with 21 points and added 8 rebounds. Fellow Triton Eliza Campbell netted 15 points, while Beaver Dam's Kiley Riteris (12 points) and New Richmond's Mattie Kidder (11 points) each reached double figures. Oregon's Maddy Gits led the South with 14 points and 7 rebounds. 

Division 2 Box Score

Division 3: North 79, South 70

In the final game of the day, North outscored 31-22 in an exciting fourth quarter to complete the sweep of the South with a 79-70 victory. Hayward's Morgan Johnson led the North with 19 points, while Neillsville's Jenny Lindner added 18 points on 6-for-10 shooting from behind the arc. Kettle Moraine Lutheran's Andrea Meinert finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds for the South, while Brodhead's Carly Mohns totaled 12 points and 9 rebounds in the loss. 

Division 3 Box Score

Division 4: North 75, South 55

North led by 15 at halftime and cruised to a 75-55 win over the South. Phillips' Kendra Brown scored 16 points for the North. Oconto's Laken James also had a big game for the North, she finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists. St. Mary's Central's Jenna Thelen added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the victory. Lourdes Academy's Maddy Reed led the South with 13 points. 

Division 4 Box Score

Division 5: North 72, South 48

North led South by 11 points at the break and rolled to a 72-48 victory. North dominated the inside, outrebounding the South 70-37. Marion's McKenzie Thoma finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the North. Goodman/Pembine's Courtney Goyak added 9 points and 17 rebounds. Alma Center Lincoln's Mikayla Simmons led South with 11 points.
