Division 4 Girls Basketball Semi-Final Notes: Cuba City & Fall Creek advance to the title game

Cuba City is headed back to the state championship game after defeating St. Mary's Springs 62-56 in a Division 4 State Semi-Final.  

The Cubans' led the majority of the game, but Springs kept it close throughout. Cuba City's largest lead came came with 3:26 in the fourth when they led by 12. 

Senior Mollie Wedige finished with a team-high 19 points and added 9 rebounds for the Cubans.

Junior Jessi Marti scored 16 points, fellow junior Katilyn Kaiser totaled, 11 points, while senior Chloe Pustina finished with 9 points and 6 assists for the Cubans. 

St. Mary's Springs was led by senior Kelli Schrauth's 25 points and 12 rebounds. 

Cuba City will face Fall Creek in the Division 4 State Championship Game on Saturday. 

The two teams met a month ago at JustAgame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells. Cuba City won that game 69-60. 

The Cubans have a 48-game winning streak entering the state title game.


Fall Creek defeated Marathon 56-51 in a back-and-forth contest to advance to the Division 4 State Championship Game against Cuba City on Saturday. 

The Crickets had a big third quarter, outscoring Marathon 16-9 in the third after holding a 23-22 halftime lead. 

There were four lead changes and was tied five times in the contest. 

Senior Tatum Mayenschein finished with a game-high 18 points for Fall Creek. Olivia Burghardt scored 13 points and Jonalyn Wittwer added 10 points for the Crickets. 

Marathon was led by Olivia Meurette who finished with 13 points. 

Fall Creek faces Cuba City in the title game. The two teams played last month at JustAgame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells.
