WisSports.net Week 3 Team of the Week Nominees:

Chippewa Falls - The Big Rivers is shaping up to be improved and highly competitive in 2015, and Chippewa Falls embodies that. The Cardinals are searching for their first playoff appearance since 2010, and got off to a good start to league play with a 42-22 win over Eau Claire Memorial, moving to 3-0 overall. ChiHi rolled up 394 yards on the ground, as Aaron Knez (187) and Kole Mewhorter (120) both went over the century mark.

Fond du Lac - It appeared the Cardinals were in trouble late in the third quarter against Stevens Point, as SPASH had just scored for a third time in the period to go up 25-14. Quarterback Quinn Woelfel found Justin Maratik for a 50-yard touchdown moments later however, and Woelfel went in for a 3-yard score late in the fourth quarter as Fondy scored a 29-25 victory. Woelfel ran for 149 yards, which helped atone for 4 interceptions through the air.

Oregon - It wasn't just that Oregon beat six-time defending Badger-South Conference champion Monona Grove on Friday, it was the manner in which they did it. More physical at the point of attack, the Panthers held standout MG running back Toren Young to just 75 yards. Sam Mueller had a pair of touchdown runs for Oregon, while Matt Yates added a scoring plunge as well. The Panthers move to 3-0 with the victory.

Wauwatosa West - Tosa West had been 0-7 all-time against Pewaukee, and trailed 20-0 early in the second quarter. Against the odds, the Trojans rallied for a 27-20 victory, as Rayvon Bartlett, Jr. found Truman Tyson for a 19-yard score with just 1:10 left in the game. It was one of two touchdown passes by Bartlett, who added 78 yards and a score on the ground as well.

Xavier - Coming off a solid performance in a victory over Seymour (which helped earn Noah Severin the Player of the Week honors), Xavier got an even bigger win in Week 3. Facing off against defending Division 2 state champion Menasha, who had yet to allow a point, the Hawks took advantage of several Menasha turnovers to secure a 26-22 victory. Quarterback Zach Simons accounted for a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to rally Xavier, scoring one on the ground and one through the air. He was responsible for all four scores in the game for Xavier.
