(Week of September 21-27)

FOOTBALL
Offense

Jordan Ratliffe, Senior (Milwaukee, Wis./Vincent), Running Back of UW-Whitewater
Ratliffe tallied career highs in carries (30) and rushing yards (193) to help lift the No. 1-ranked Warhawks to a 33-30 victory at Morningside College (Iowa), the top-ranked NAIA team, on Sept. 24. He also ran for two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score from six yards out with 38 seconds to play. Ratliffe’s performance was his 11th career 100-yard rushing game, including fourth in the last five contests.

Also nominated:
UW-River Falls, Ryan Kusilek, Senior, Quarterback, River Falls, Wis.
UW-Stevens Point, Matt Sosinsky, Senior, Wide Receiver, Princeton, Wis.

Defense
Albert Itula, Junior (Carson, Calif.), Linebacker of UW-River Falls
Itula led the Falcons defense in their 35-20 victory over Southwestern University (Texas) on Sept. 26. On the day, he was credited with six tackles, including three quarterback sacks and four tackles for losses of 21 yards. Itula also had a pass break up and a quarterback hurry as the Falcons won their first game of the season.

Also nominated:
UW-Stevens Point, Adam Wachowiak, Junior, Defensive Line, Stevens Point, Wis. (SPASH)
UW-Whitewater, Brandon Tamsett, Junior, Defensive Line, Waterford, Wis. (Waterford-Union)

Special Teams
Lake Bachar, Junior (Wheaton, Ill./North), Punter/Kicker of UW-Whitewater
Bachar kicked a 44-yard field goal in the third quarter and helped the top-ranked Warhawks win the field position match-up with his outstanding punting and kicking in the team’s 33-30 victory at NAIA No. 1-ranked Morningside College (Iowa) on Sept. 24. All three of his punts pinned the Mustangs inside their own 20-yard line, and five of his seven kickoffs went through the end zone for touchbacks. As a result of Bachar’s performance, UW-Whitewater’s average field position on drive starts was 10 yards better than Morningside’s.

Also nominated:
UW-River Falls, Jacob Betthauser, Junior, Running Back, Ellsworth, Wis.
UW-Stevens Point, Jerry Williams, Sophomore, Wide Receiver, Milwaukee, Wis. (Watertown)
