Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of March 7 through 13. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: March 7-13

Job Alexander, Marquette boys basketball: Alexander scored 24 points and made 15 of his 16 free throw attempts in the Hilltoppers' win against Milwaukee Riverside, 59-58, in a Division 1 sectional final. He finished with 20 points in a sectional semi-final win over Racine Park, 67-62. 

Nate Banasik, Prairie du Chien boys basketball: Banasik scored 21 points, including going 8-for-8 from the free throw line the the Blackhawks' win over East Troy, 59-49, in a Division 3 sectional final. He totaled 15 points in their victory against Lodi, 41-29, in a sectional semi-final. 

Gena Grundhoffer, Assumption girls basketball: Grundhoffer helped the Royals win the Division 5 state title, their second title in four years. The Lehigh recruit scored 20 points in their win over Barneveld, 62-45, in the championship game. Gena scored 35 points in their state semi-final win over Fall River on Friday, setting the single-game Division 5 state tournament record. Her 55 points for the tournament also set the WIAA Division 5 State Tournament record. She also set Division 5 record for free throws made (25), attempted (27), made in a single-game (17), and consecutive free throws made (13). 

Alex Luehring, Verona girls basketball: Luehring helped the Wildcats win their first state title in program history, finishing with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals in their 52-46 win over Mukwonago in the Division 1 championship game. The UW-Green Bay recruit went 4-for-9 from behind the arc in the victory. Luehring totaled 19 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks in the Wildcats' win over Appleton North, 69-41, in a state semi-final. 

Madelyn Neff, Hayward girls basketball: Neff helped the Hurricanes win their first state title, she finished with 24 points (15-16 on FT's) and added 10 rebounds in their 43-31 win over Milwaukee School of Languages in the Division 3 championship game. She scored 23 points, including hitting a pair of free throws with 6.2 seconds left to lift the Hurricanes past Madison Edgewood 50-49 in a state semi-final. Madelyn set the Division 3 WIAA State Tournament record for most free throws made with 26, breaking Jenny Lindner of Neillsville's previous record of 24. Madelyn also broke the state tournament record for attempts with 28, Lindner also had that record with 27.
