The first game of last Friday's doubleheader between Chippewa Falls and Wisconsin Rapids didn't have a lot of drama, as ChiHi topped the Raiders 11-1 in a six-inning run-rule shortened game.
The second contest however was a much different story. A pitcher's battle broke out, as both teams were scoreless heading into the seventh inning.
Finally, in the bottom of the seventh inning, Chippewa Falls got some things going. Still, there were two outs when Dane Weiland came to the plate with a chance to play hero.
That's exactly what he did, delivering a single to plate the winning run in a 1-0 victory as the Cardinals capped off the doubleheader sweep of Wisconsin Rapids.
