Air National Guard Week 1 Team of the Week Nominees:

Fall River -- Fall River won the Trailways-Small Conference title last year and took a big step towards a repeat crown in 2018. Going against Lourdes Academy, the team picked second in the preseason, the Pirates jumped out to a 15-0 halftime advantage and held on for a 15-10 victory. Fall River's running game led the way, as the team racked up 258 yards on the ground, led by Davyn Braker's 185 yards on 19 carries.

Janesville Craig -- The Cougars are one of two teams to remain unbeaten in the Big Eight Conference through three weeks of the season after a 26-20 win over Verona. It is just the second time Craig has beaten Verona in the last 11 years. Janesville Craig's rushing attack rolled up 350 yards, as the team rebounded from a 20-13 deficit entering the fourth quarter.

Marshfield -- Marshfield and Hortonville met up Friday night in a showdown of resurgent programs that were 2-0. It was Marshfield that emerged unblemished, soundly defeating the Polar Bears 41-20 behind three second-half touchdowns from Brant Bohman, who finished with four scores and 180 total yards of offense. Quarterback Ryan Kruger also went over the century mark on the ground as the Tigers finished with 402 rushing yards as a team.

Richland Center -- The Hornets ended the state's longest active losing streak at 42 games, topping Luther 30-24. It was a back-and-forth affair, with RC taking the lead for good on a Jaren Hill 19-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. The losing streak is believed to be the third-longest in state history. Richland Center's last win had come in September of 2013 against Prairie du Chien.

Waunakee -- For the second straight week, the WSN Game of the Week didn't turn out to be much of a game. Waunakee took it to Mount Horeb/Barneveld right away and never let up, leading 43-0 at halftime before winning 46-0. Things opened with a bang, when Sawyer Maly returned the opening kickoff 89 yards for a score. Reed Ryan would return a blocked punt for a score later in the first quarter as the rout was on quickly. The Warriors held Mount Horeb/Barneveld to just 13 rushing yards and 123 yards of total offense.
