Air National Guard Week 8 Team of the Week Nominees:

Lourdes Academy -- Lourdes forced its way into a three-way tie for the lead in the Trailways-Small with one game to play, beating previously undefeated Johnson Creek 42-41 in a thriller Thursday night. It was a back-and-forth game throughout, as the teams traded scores the whole way. The Knights had 177 yards rushing and five touchdowns on the ground, though no single player eclipsed 90 yards in a balanced attack. Quarterback Joshua Bauer threw for 219 yards and a touchdown.

Mineral Point -- Mineral Point went up 14-0 on unbeaten Fennimore in the first half and held on for a 14-12 victory, stopping a potential game-tying Golden Eagles two-point conversion in the final minute. Isaac Lindsey threw for 194 yards and both Pointers scores, adding a team-best 67 yards on the ground. The win puts Mineral Point alone in first place of the SWAL with one week left.

Monona Grove -- The Silver Eagles wrapped up at least a share of the Badger-South title with a dominating 42-7 win over Stoughton Friday night. MG's offense racked up 338 yards on the ground, as both quarterback Jordan Bishop and running back Brady Killerlain went over the century mark. Bishop would add 71 yards and a touchdown through the air as well. The defense limited Stoughton to just 5-of-23 passing for 42 yards (picking them off once) and 92 yards on the ground.

Onalaska -- The Hilltoppers stopped a potential game-winning two-point conversion in the final minute to hold on to beat West Salem 21-20 and get into a tie for first place in the Mississippi Valley Conference. Onalaska went up 21-0 in the third quarter, but West Salem came racing back to make it a game. The Hilltoppers couldn't sustain much on offense, accumulating just 150 yards of total offense, but were helped tremendously by three interceptions on defense, including a Pick-6 from David Luck in the third quarter. With Holmen losing to Sparta, Onalaska and Holmen are tied for first and will play a winner-take-all game next week.

Racine St. Catherine's -- Racine St. Catherine's was incredibly impressive on both sides of the ball in defeating Martin Luther 27-21 in a showdown of unbeaten, top-five teams in Division 4. The Angels defense limited star running back Darios Crawley-Reid to just 48 yards on 17 rush attempts. Offensively, Da'Shaun Brown took over, throwing for 131 yards and 3 touchdowns (6-of-7 passing) while adding 148 yards and a score on the ground as well.
