Wisconsin Sports Network and WisSports.net are proud to announce Oshkosh West senior Trey Demler as the inaugural recipient of the Dave Krieg Award as the most outstanding senior quarterback in Wisconsin, part of the 1st Annual WSN Senior Football Awards. Demler led the Wildcats to a 5-4 regular season record, and a berth in the WIAA playoffs, although they fell in Level 1. On the season, Demler completed 201 of 307 passes (65.5%) for 2595 yards and 25 touchdowns. Also a threat with his legs, Demler rushed 101 times for 379 yards and three more touchdowns.

West's defense struggled this season, meaning Demler and the offense often had to simply out-score the other team if they were to win. Trey also came up big in big games. With the Wildcats facing a must-win game in Week 9 against Kaukauna, Demler threw for 218 yards and four touchdowns to go along with 101 rushing yards and another score on the ground as they pulled out a 35-7 victory that ensured a playoff berth.

Oshkosh West Coach Ken Levine had high praise for Demler. "He has set numerous team and conference records and has verbally committed to North Dakota," Levine said. "He is also a very good student (around a 3.4 GPA) and plays basketball and baseball. We will miss him terribly next year!!"
