Germantown's Luke Fischer has been selected as the top senior Post player as part of the WSN Senior Boys Basketball Awards. He was a unanimous choice by the voting panel.

Fischer has long showed considerable promise, and it has culminated in a huge senior season as he is one of the most improved big men in the country over the last few years. As the Warhawks look to repeat as unbeaten Division 1 champions, Fischer is the team's leading scorer at 20.5 points per game while adding a team-best 9.4 rebounds per game as well with 67 blocks on the season. A capable outside shooter, he is deadly when he catches on the block or in the lane, finishing at a high rate.

The Warhawks have won 54 consecutive games heading into their state semi-final match-up with Oshkosh North and are looking to become the first back to back unbeaten state champ since the Sam Okey-led Cassville teams of the mid-90's.

Fischer has been the catalyst for the state's top team that also features the top offense in Wisconsin. Germantown has scored less than 70 points just twice in 26 games, with a "low" of 61. His dependable low post presence results in a 66% shooting percentage while he also connects at a 66% clip from the free throw line.

Fischer signed with Indiana University after giving the Hoosiers a verbal commitment in January of 2012.

Finalists for the award were Fischer, Toby Hegner of Berlin, Bennett Koch of Ashwaubenon, Kenneth Lowe of Little Chute, and Brett Prahl of East Troy.

Luke Heller of D.C. Everest received the award last season.
