St. Mary's Springs senior Anja Smith has been selected as the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week for the week of February 20 through 26 after a vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 2,151 votes this week; Smith received 739, while Cudahy senior Bailey Eichner finished second with 581 votes. 

 Smith led the Ledgers to a 58-56 win over top-seed and No. 2 ranked Lourdes Academy to capture a Division 4 regional championship. Anja totaled 23 points and 8 rebounds in the win.  In the Ledgers 69-51 win against Ozaukee on Friday, Smith finished with 35 points and 12 rebounds.

Last Tuesday in the opening round of the tournament, she tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Dodgeland, 62-27.

The Grand Valley State recruit averaged 20.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game for St. Mary's Springs (18-8). The Ledgers season ended with a 48-41 loss to Howards Grove in a D4 sectional semi-final last night.
