Hortonville's Ryan Krueger has been selected as the top senior Shooter as part of the WSN Senior Boys Basketball Awards.

The NCAA Division I recruit for South Dakota State was definitely a marked man by opposing defenses this winter. Nonetheless, Krueger managed to average 22.2 points and 6.1 rebounds for a very young team. He shot 45 percent from the field, 77 percent from the free-throw line and 41 percent from three-point range.

A four-year varsity performer who scored more than 1,400 career points, Krueger made 94 three-point baskets as a senior to rank among the state leaders in three-point field goals made. He made at least five three-pointers in nine games this season, including eight in an early-season game against Oshkosh West.

Finalists for the award were Krueger, Milwaukee Vincent's Justin Brookens, Ozaukee's Garrett Hoffman, Milwaukee Riverside's Terrence Lewis, and Ripon's Eddie Muench.

Past winners of the award include Trev Anderson of Stevens Point (2016), Brevin Pritzl of De Pere (2015), Brady Ellingson of Sussex Hamilton (2014), Matt Thomas of Onalaska (2013), and Tyson Kalien of Chippewa Falls (2012).

WSN Senior Basketball Awards are selected by WisSports.net staff.
