Bio Like his older brother, former University of Wisconsin all-american Jim Leonhard, Tyler Leonhard plays quarterback and defensive back for the Flambeau Falcons where he was named second-team all-conference at defensive back as a sophomore. That season he also completed 37 of 53 passing attempts for 456 yards and five touchdowns and rushed 163 times for 1,309 yards and 21 touchdowns. That was followed by a junior season in which Leonhard earned Eau Claire Leader-Telegram first-team all-area and first-team all-conference recognition at defensive back as well as first-team all-conference acclaim at quarterback. In the nine games in which statistics were available, Leonhard completed 34 of 71 passing attempts for 720 yards and six touchdowns and rushed 105 times for 818 yards and 15 touchdowns. Much like his older brother, Tyler Leonhard is an excellent overall athlete who excels in multiple sports including basketball, baseball and track. In basketball, he was named a first-team all-conference selection as both a sophomore and junior. In addition, he received first-team all-conference honors in baseball as a sophomore. Finally, Leonhard was a track and field state qualifier in the 200 meter dash and 4x100 meter relay as a junior. He was also a sectional qualifier in the triple jump and 4x400 meter relay.
