Tim Krumrie Award Finalists

The Tim Krumrie Award is given annually to the state's top senior defensive lineman as part of the WSN Senior Football Awards. The award is named after Tim Krumrie, a former Mondovi and University of Wisconsin athlete who would go on to star in the NFL for 12 seasons, including two Pro Bowl appearances.

The pre-season watch list was trimmed down to 17 semi-finalists, and six finalists for the award have now been selected. Winners will be announced the week of the state finals.

Gabe Alyousef, Oak Creek

Oak Creek bowed out in a tight game to Franklin in Level 2, as the Knights' only two losses this season were against the Sabers. An anchor up front on the defensive side of the ball, Gabe Alyousef had another outstanding season to cap a four-year varsity career. In eight games, he posted 37 tackles including four for loss. "He was a four-year starter, two-time conference interior lineman of the year," said head coach Joel Paar. "Gabe commanded a double team all year, while still being able to pressure from the inside. He is the best run stopping interior lineman at Oak Creek in the past 15 years."

Adam Boehm, Catholic Memorial

Adam Boehm is part of an extremely talented defensive group for the Crusaders, and this year blossomed into the team's leader in tackles (70), tackles for loss (21), and sacks (12). A three-sport athlete for Catholic Memorial, head coach Bill Young raves about his play and his production, despite playing just two quarters in many games the Crusaders won via blowout.

Reid Jamerson, Whitefish Bay

When it comes to disruptive defensive linemen, it doesn't get much better than Reid Jamerson. While undersized at 5'11", 190 pounds, he is incredibly explosive and penetrates into the backfield like a rocket. "Reid burst onto the scene as a junior and was nearly unblockable as a slanting nose guard," said head coach Jake Wolter. "Although he may be smaller than most defensive lineman, he makes up for it with his physical attributes. There isn't a lineman quicker, stronger, and more relentless than Reid. We have had the ability to move him along the defensive line this year so teams couldn't get comfortable triple teaming him at the nose guard position. He has blossomed on the edge as a guy who can hold the edge as well as consistently chase down running backs and quarterbacks from behind. Reid is one of the most disruptive defensive players I have ever seen." In his senior season he has 62 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, and 12.5 sacks in 11 games heading into Level 3.

Andrew Jeske, Colby

Andrew Jeske has dominated in the Marawood Conference this season, earning Lineman of the Year honors for a Hornets defense that allows just six points and 127 yards of offense per game. "Andrew is a prototype looking defensive end, tall (6'2"), lean (200 pounds) and so explosive off the ball, and I mean so quick," said head coach Jim Hagen. "He has a motor that doesn't stop and many times he will get tackles from behind chasing plays down. His work ethic in practice and in the weight room is crazy intense." Jeske has 31 tackles, 15 sacks, four forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries in just ten games this season.

Isaac Hamm, Sun Prairie

An All-State player as a junior and finalist for the WSN Spring Football Defensive Player of the Year honor, Sun Prairie's Isaac Hamm is the top-ranked defensive player in the state in our Class of 2021 rankings. Holding scholarship offers from Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Penn State, and a host of other Division 1 schools, he's a monster up front for head coach Brian Kaminski. "He is the best defensive lineman I have seen during my coaching days," Kaminski said. "He has all of the tools needed to be great. He has size, strength, speed, and plays with a relentless effort. He is always double and triple teamed and still has a big impact on the game. He is also great on special teams with 5 blocked kicks on the season." Despite missing a couple games with injury, Hamm leads the team with 50 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and seven sacks.

Wes King, Appleton North

Appleton North's Wes King is the rare big-school lineman who plays both ways for the Lightning, earning First Team All-Conference as an offensive lineman and defensive lineman, in addition to co-Defensive Player of the Year honors in the FVA. "What separates Wes from other players is his non-stop motor with the ability to fight through double teams, control the line of scrimmage, and make plays in the backfield," said head coach Rob Salm. "Wes is an amazing teammate, always building up scout players and teammates both in practice and around the school. His love for the game is second to none and plays the game the way it is meant to be played. He's a special young man." Sporting several Division 1 offers, he has 42 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks this season.
