Alex Haines of Oconto Falls has been selected as the Week 7 Jolly Good Football Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped the Panthers stay in first place in the Northwoods Conference. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 7. A total of 5,366 votes were cast, as Haines' 2,626 were enough to edge out second place Ben Fritsch of Port Washington, who tallied 1,066 votes.

Oconto Falls remained unbeaten in the Northwoods Conference, winning a 78-42 shootout against Clintonville. Alex Haines put up one of the top rushing performances of the season, carrying the ball 27 times for 429 yards and six touchdowns. The Panthers did not complete a pass in the game, rushing for 589 yards and 10 touchdowns as a team. Haines added two interceptions on defense.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named Jolly Good Football Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 8 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
