Arrowhead started fast and cruised to a victory over Franklin in a Division 1 state semifinal at the Resch Center.

The Warhawks scored the first nine points of the game and led by as many as 15 points before holding a 41-27 halftime lead.

Franklin scored the first two points of the second half and that was the closest the score would be the rest of the way, as the Warhawks led by as many as 31 points late in the game.

Sophomore Natalie Kussow (5-11) was outstanding for Arrowhead, finishing with a game-high 33 points and added seven rebounds. She was 11 of 18 from the field, went 6-for-8 from deep, and made five of six from the charity stripe.

Fellow sophomore Libby Gilmore (5-10) added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Warhawks.

Other key contributors for coach Ron Reichle and the Warhawks were senior Abby Robel (5-7) and sophomore Presly Samz (5-7), who tallied nine and eight points, respectively. Samz also dished out a game-high 11 assists in the contest.

Franklin was led by senior Natalie Meaux (5-7), who scored a team-high 24 points.

Arrowhead will meet Neenah in the Division 1 state championship game on Saturday at approximately 8:15 p.m.

This is the Warhawks' third WIAA state title game appearance, they took home gold balls in 1988 and 1991.

Allie Ziebell put on a show and led Neenah past Hartford in a Division 1 state semifinal on Friday evening.

The Rockets 40-32 at the break and held on to defeat Hartford, 77-70, in a state semifinal.

Ziebell, who was named Ms. Basketball by the WBCA on Thursday, tied her season high with 40 points. The 6-0 guard shot 11-for-24 from the floor, 2-for-6 from deep, and made 16 of 20 from the charity stripe.

Sophomore Rowan Klesmit (5-5) added 11 points for coach Andy Braunel and the Rockets.

Hartford was led by 6-0 junior Makena Christian, a Minnesota recruit, who tallied a team-best 23 points and nine rebounds.

Freshman Rita Kuepper (5-6) added 21 points for the Orioles.

Neenah will play in the state championship game for the third time in program history and first since 1980. The Rockets' only state title was in 1978 in Class A.
