Arrowhead wins its third state championship in program history and first since 1991. 

The Warhawks led nearly the entire contest, defeating Neenah, 69-59, in the Division 1 state championship game at the Resch Center in Green Bay. 

Arrowhead held a 34-29 lead at the break and pushed its lead to 11 with 7:10 remaining (57-46). 

Neenah used a 9-2 run to get back within four (59-55) with 3:41 left but that’s all the closer the Rockets would get. 

Arrowhead sophomore Natalie Kussow (5-11) scored six of its final eight points to close the game, including going 4-for-4 from the free throw line to seal the win. 

Kussow, who holds several Division I offers, finished the game with 26 points, including 20 in the second half. She also led the team with eight rebounds, six assists, four steals, and two blocks. She shot 9-for-18 from the floor and made seven of eight from the free throw line.

Seniors Erica Bub (5-10) and Abby Robel (5-7) also reached double-figures for coach Ron Reichle and the Warhawks, tallying 12 and 10 points, respectively. Robel also tallied four rebounds and four assists. 

Sophomore Libby Gilmore (5-10) and senior Taylor Thimmesch (5-9) each netted eight points, while sophomore Presly Samz collected five points for the Warhawks. Samz also dished out three assists in the win. 

Arrowhead shot 50 percent from the floor (27-54) in the victory and led for 27:22 of the contest, outscoring Neenah 38-12 in the paint. The Warhawks also held a 12-0 advantage in fastbreak points. 

Neenah was led by 6-0 senior Allie Ziebell, 2024 Ms. Basketball, who finished with a game-high 35 points and added seven rebounds and three assists. The UConn recruit shot 14-for-29 from the floor and 7-for-16 from behind the arc. 

Ziebell scored 75 points at the WIAA state tournament, the second-most points scored since the D1 format changed from a three-game format to two in 2011. Arike Ogunbowale (DSHA) holds the record with 82 points, which included the record for points in a game with 55 at the 2015 WIAA state tournament. 

Sophomore Rowan Klesmit (5-5) tallied 14 points, four assists, and two steals for coach Andy Braunel and the Rockets. Senior Amaya Jones (6-1) pulled down a game-high 16 rebounds for Neenah. 

The Rockets end the season with a 24-6 record, reaching the WIAA state tournament for the eighth time in team history. 

Arrowhead finishes the season with a 27-3 record, claiming its third state championship in 11 trips to the WIAA state tournament.
