Wisconsin Sports Network and WisSports.net are happy to announce Black River Falls' Jordan Millis as the 2012 recipient of the Al Toon Award as the most outstanding senior wide receiver in Wisconsin, part of the WSN Senior Football Awards presented by Taco Bell.

The superlatives when discussing Millis come from not only his own coaches, but opposing coaches as well. “I have not seen a single player have such an impact on a game or a game plan,” said West Salem head man Wayne Sackett.

“Jordan is nearly impossible to bring down in space,” added Arcadia's Derek Updike.

On the season Millis had 47 catches for 1132 yards and 18 touchdowns, an average of 24.1 yards per catch. Over three game game stretch late in the year he caught 8 passes for 377 yards, with all 8 catches going for scores. He also rushed for 443 yards and 7 touchdowns while serving as a threat in the return game as well.

Finalists for the award were Millis, Jacob Demman of Lake Country Lutheran, Matt Johnson of Cedarburg, Sam Mentkowski of Whitnall, and Jester Weah of Madison Memorial.

Past winners of the award include Madison Memorial's Lechein Neblett (2009), Monona Grove's Zach Zweifel (2010), and Montello/Princeton/Green Lake's Matt Sosinsky (2011).

The award is named after Al Toon, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin who still ranks in the top three or four of almost all game, season, and career receiving categories. Toon was a first-round draft choice by the New York Jets, who led the NFL in catches in 1988 with 93. Injuries forced him to retire early from the NFL, but he has been a fixture back in the Madison area for many years.

The voting panel for the WSN Senior Football Awards consisted of:  Travis Wilson, WSN Content Manager and Head Football Writer;  Nicholas Kartos, WSN President and Founder; Norbert Durst, WSN Content Producer; Dennis Semrau, Wisconsin State Journal; Justin Hull, WSCO The Score 95.3 in Appleton; John Casper Jr., La Crosse Tribune; Dan Barwick, WSN Associate Content Producer
