Division 1

Germantown, Milwaukee Hamilton, and Sussex Hamilton remain the top three teams in the Week 8 Division 1 Coaches Poll but there are plenty of changes after that.  Milwaukee Vincent topped Milwaukee King in a big City Conference match-up and the teams switched spots in the rankings, with Vincent rising from #6 to #4, while King dropped from #4 to #6. Stevens Point remains unbeaten at 14-0 and climbs from #10 to #7 this week. Sheboygan North entered the week undefeated but was blown out by Ashwaubenon and tumbled all the way out of the rankings. Sun Prairie had the top-ranked team from Iowa on the ropes but Iowa City West rallied for a 59-55 win on Saturday at the Iowa-Wisconsin Border Battle. With the loss Sun Prairie drops just one spot from #8 to #9. After splitting games against Sussex Hamilton and nationally ranked Chester (PA) last week, Brookfield Central moves back into the rankings at #10. Their only losses this year are to undefeated teams Germantown and Sussex Hamilton.

Division 2

Seymour is again on top of a wild and crazy Division 2, which sees three new teams in this week's poll. Onalaska stays at #2 but Rice Lake took advantage of losses to the teams ahead of them to climb from 5th to 3rd. Slinger had been ranked 4th but fell to Wisconsin Lutheran and dropped all the way out of this week's poll. Pulaski is a big mover, going from #9 to #4 this week. La Crosse Central had been ranked 3rd and unbeaten but went down to Aquinas Monday night and dipped to #5. Wisconsin Lutheran (#6), Ashwaubenon (#9), and West Pere (#10) are new to this week's poll. West De Pere takes on top-ranked Seymour tonight for control of the Bay Conference.

Division 3

The top of the Division 3 poll remains unchanged, but a couple big showdowns loom on the horizon. On January 28th top-ranked Wisconsin Dells travels to Lodi, and the Chiefs then host 5th-ranked East Troy on February 9th. Before that however they must tangle with Mauston tonight, and the Golden Eagles are a new team in the poll at #10 this week. Brown Deer enters at #9 as Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau and Lake Mills drop out.

Division 4

Dominican continues to hold an ever-so-slight edge on Cuba City in the Division 4 rankings, although plenty of quality teams are just behind the duo. Augusta, who moves from #9 to #6, and Luther, who enters the rankings for the first time at #7, are the big movers this week. Saint Mary's Springs, who had been 6th but went down to #5 Laconia last week, narrowly holds a spot in the rankings in a tie for 10th with Marathon. The 11 teams ranked in the Division 4 poll combine for just 9 losses, easily the least total of any division.

Division 5

Randolph has spent all season at #1 in the Division 5 rankings, but suffered its first defeat on Saturday at the hands of Danville (IA), the top-ranked team in Iowa's smallest division. The big question this week was if the Rockets would hold onto that top spot. Somewhat surprisingly, they maintained the #1 ranking easily, garnering all but one #1 vote. Green Bay NEW Lutheran is again 2nd followed by Clayton. Cassville went down to River Ridge on Monday, dropping the Comets to #5 this week as Monticello nudges ahead of them. Another Six Rivers team, Black Hawk, debuts this week at #8 as Elmwood dropped out of the poll.
